Peace River Flood

Posted in Photography on April 9, 2014 by paintedmeadows

peaceriverflood2014 peaceriverflood2014-2Starting last evening, downtown Peace River started flooding from an ice jam in Pat’s Creek culvert which caused it to overflow.  I didn’t go into town as I didn’t want to get in the way but I took these from 12 Foot Davis Gravesite today.  If you view the photos at full size you can see where the water was.  They cut a slice through the berm to let all of the water out into the Peace River.  A little bit of excitement around here.

athenaSorry for the delay in posts.  I have been busy getting ready for an exhibit of my photography at the Peace River Museum, Archives and Mackenzie Centre.  I am their  Artist of the Month for April.  You can read about me on their blog.  http://peacerivermuseum.blogspot.ca/  I’m pretty excited about it!  I took a picture of my display but it was taken with my old iphone so it is a bit blurry but here it is.                     artshow
