Catch Up Day Five
There were all types of lizards around the resort but the iguanas were my favourite! This guy was so neat just hanging out on his rock and letting me take photos.
These peacocks were also wandering freely around the resort amongst a bunch of other birds, tropical fish, turtles and of course the coatis. Fun place for the kids.
Our room was on the third floor of our complex and from our balcony you could see this female iguana on the top of an old dead tree covered in vines. A few days later the male showed up with kisses. They hung out in the sun there for about 4 days and then he disappeared again. We named her Mex and him Rango. I miss my morning cup of coffee with Mex.
The tropical way of life takes a bit for us northerners to get used to. When we came back to our room after dinner one night this little one was on our wall. We called it Jeffrey and when we woke up in the morning it was gone. We have been calling it a gecko but I am not sure if that is right. It was about 3″ to 4″ long. Anyone got any ideas? So cute!!

What great pics of the wildlife at the resort!! Stuff we “southerners” take for granted..!! And yes, we call the little ‘uns geckos here, too – in fact I have a very similar photo!!!

I don’t think I would want to share a room with the little critter, but he is cute in your photo.

Love the closeup of the lizard–incredible detail, and the perspective was wonderful.
