Strength Theme #307

Posted in Photography on June 12, 2012 by paintedmeadows

OK, I know what you are thinking, “What does a flower have to do with strength?”  Well, since I have been sick my flower garden has been taken over by knee high grass, dandelions and caterpillars that have stripped the shrubs but in the midst of it all the strenght of this columbine has allowed it to stand tall and proud and STRONG!!

Complexity Theme #56

There is such beauty in the complexity.  Too bad it is such a voracious weed.

Duty Theme #84

The male Eastern Phoebe doing his duty of watching over the female while she lines the nest with their down.  Isn’t he beautiful!

Chaos Theme #40

Posted in Photography on June 11, 2012 by paintedmeadows

What may look like chaos at first is the lovingly and patiently made nest of an Eastern Phoebe pair.  When you look at it closely you will see horse hair, moss, twigs, string, mud and what looks like a bit of my son’s lego.  They are now lining the nest with bits of their own down that they are plucking from their chests.  Since I can’t get outside my hubby is kindly letting them build their nest under our covered deck so that I can watch and photograph them through the hatch and maiden flight of their chicks.  Isn’t he the best husband ever?!!

Soft Theme #286

I love this photo of my sweet Barney.  I think the softness of the mood and the vignetting shows the softness of his soul in contrast to the strength and power of his body.

Ghostly Theme #131

Posted in Photography on June 11, 2012 by paintedmeadows

OK.  I’m not sure what happened here except I took the photo through a window with raindrops on it.  Here is our “ghostly” Kuzco.  He is actually alive, not a ghost yet.  lol  Any ideas on why this happened to just Kuzco?  Everything else in the photo including Barney and Rosie (I cropped them out) was solid.

Angles Theme #12

I love the way the roof of this barn collapsed into a fan.  I used topaz adjust 5 to add the spicify filter so I could bring out the textures and lines better.

Comfort Theme #54

Momma Wasabi and son Saki are having a quiet time together that is comforting for both.

My Little Secret Theme #202

Posted in Photography on June 8, 2012 by paintedmeadows

Sometimes I let Fiona eat at the island!  lol.  I was totally bummed to see that I cut her ears off but I thought the picture was still cute.

Low Key Theme #178

Posted in Photography on June 8, 2012 by paintedmeadows

I used Low Key 2 in Topaz Adjust 5 to bring out the sky and textures in the tree and bird.  I believe it is a female bald eagle but I can’t be sure as it kept flying further and further away.  Thank goodness for my telephoto lens.
