Now isn’t this sweet? I love this photo. Taken with my iPad2 and the previous photo of my little Saki was taken with my iPhone 4s, I forgot to mention that.

Posted in Photography on March 28, 2012 by paintedmeadowsMy amarylis is starting to bloom so I decided to play with it and different lenses. This first one I experimented with my Lensbaby Composer with the Plastic optic and a 4mm macro lens. I love the soft and almost dreamlike feel of it. I am behind 3 days so this will be monday’s shot. 2 more coming up.
Rural Theme #263
Posted in Photography on March 25, 2012 by paintedmeadowsA common sight in the rural areas of northern Canada is the school bus shelter. This is in our front yard by the road so the kids can get out of the snow, wind and in the spring, rain. There is a window on the side and on the front with a light inside and a porch light for the dark mornings in winter. Here you can see it in the light falling snow. My husband built it from scratch from his own design. He rocks!!
Trees Theme #333

Posted in Photography on March 23, 2012 by paintedmeadowsMy little treasure has now been named. Since his mom is Wasabi he is now called Saki. He’s not too sure about me yet. He has escaped the panels twice and I have had to catch him and put him back in (put me in the bad book) and then I had to loosen his blanket right after this picture (and that put me in his bad books some more). Today I think I might bundle up and just go sit in the stall with them. I am so lucky his mom is such a calm sweetheart. She makes life so much easier.
Playground Theme #233
Posted in Photography on March 22, 2012 by paintedmeadowsThe playground around here is more like the old days. We live on 160 acres of land so a playground is climbing trees, climbing hay bales, following paths, biking in the horse pasture, playing with their donkeys and chickens, sliding down the snow hills made by the tractor. All sorts of fun. Keeps them healthy and strong!
