Motionless Theme #198

Posted in Photography on January 21, 2012 by paintedmeadows

My 32″ tall miniature stallion, Levi standing in the snow.  It was about -15c with a bit of a windchill which is much warmer than our -42c windchills of earlier this week.  I think he was enjoying it.  Poor boy’s mane needs a good detangling though.

For those that asked, yesterday’s shot was shot from my truck through my 70mm to 300mm tamron lense.  I’m not sure excatly where it was at though as I was shooting quickly as it was moving back and forth.  Poor thing was not happy about me being there.

Fluffy Theme #115

I came across this beautiful fluffy coyote on my way to town.  Winter has been easy on them so far.

Flowers Theme #114

I took this picture with my new iPhone 4s.  I am still figuring out how to use it and am not sure how to post straight to my blog from there so this is a low resolution one.  Loving the phone so far!!

Don’t need to say much about this except I am glad the resident is hibernating!  lol

Solitude Theme #288

I love the way our firepit looks peeking out of the snow.  It will be quite a few months before we use it again and there won’t be much more time before it is covered in snow completely.  I used PSE9 Topaz B&W Effects Van Dyke Brown Collection with the Camel Dynamic Filter.  The firepit is an old steel tractor wheel.

Art Theme #16

I love this little piece of garden art.  It is hanging on my veranda.  This is the bottom part of it but there are many other pieces of glass and shapes going up it for another 2 feet or so.  It really sparkles in the sun.  Now I am caught up till monday.

Curvature Theme #64

Posted in Photography on January 18, 2012 by paintedmeadows

We have had alot of high winds with snow here.  Wind chill temperatures of -41c and colder.  BRRR.  So I haven’t been out plus I have been down with the flu and a possibly dislocated jaw (long story) so I am behind on photos.  This one I took from my front window of the curves the wind blew into the snow in my driveway.  I used PSE9 with Topaz Adjust 5 Vibrant collection to apply the bold filter.

Theme #52 Cold

This little birdbath is in my front garden.  It will be a while before the birds can use it again.  It is frozen stiff.  I used Topaz B&W Effects to apply the warm tone black border filter.  I like the way it came out.

Theme #120 Freeze Frame

Posted in Photography on January 11, 2012 by paintedmeadows

We have a big patch of ice in our driveway that is making a great place to slide for the kids.  My daughter is turning hard here so she doesn’t slide under my truck.  You can see the snow flying up when you enlarge it.  So FREEZE frame is covered three ways, freezing cold, frozen driveway and frozen action with snow flying up.  I think I did well.  lol.
