Flat Theme #107

Posted in Photography on July 20, 2011 by paintedmeadows

Our little Fiona at 10 1/2 weeks sleeping “flat” out!  Isn’t she adorable?  I wish I could sleep that sound!!  And just because she is so dang cute I will include a few more pictures just taken of her.  For those new to my blog Fiona is a West Highland White Terrier puppy.  I love this girl!!  Big change from Great Danes in many ways. ;0)

For some fun I played with this photo in PSE9 and used the Topaz Adjust plug in to do a Venice – Painting effect and then in PSE9 I used the Aged Frame.

Asymmetrical Theme #11

Last night we had a big thunderstorm.  This picture of the angry clouds were taken from my back deck.  Thanks to Gisele I now have Topaz Adjust so I used the Exposure Color Stretch filter for some fun.  It was a very dramatic shot before but didn’t quite show exactly what I saw.  This is a little closer but more vibrant.  I hope you enjoy it.  I think I am going to have alot of fun with this new plug-in!!

Natural Framing Theme #193

Yesterday we went for a picnic and fishing.  The kids fished from shore but the fishing wasn’t good.  Although these gentlemen seemed to be enjoying themselves and I liked the view with the framing.

Powerful Theme #227

I have to catch up again today after having no internet yesterday.  ARG!  Anyways, I was quite amused watching this little redwing blackbird chase this powerful bald eagle away from it’s nest.  They are like little terriers!  I was also very happy that I got the shot since they were zigzaging all over the sky!

Fasteners Theme #100

There are almost too many fasteners on this drum kit to count and then for good measure, in the reflection of the drummer’s glass cage you can see the guitar players guitar and guitar strap which can be another fastener.  The drum kit belongs to Dano Laflamme of C. Alice and the guitar player is Ron deBoon of C. Alice.  C. Alice is the rock band that my husband, Rob plays bass in and the fourth member is another guitar player, Steve Kos.  You can read more about the band at their website http://www.calice.ca.

Freeze Frame Theme #115

We have had alot of rain around here and the main river and it’s tributaries are very high and muddy.  Aidan, my son was dropping big rocks and mud balls of the bridge into the muddy water so I played with some shots.  The water is almost thick and reminds me of an iced cappuccino!  lol

Compact Theme #57

I love the tight, compact petals on the chrysanthemum flower.  Such beautiful flowers that I had to treat myself to some!!

Stripes Theme #287

My husband and son on the Peace River bridge throwing rocks into the river.  I loved all of the lines and structure leading to and framing the touching moment between father and son.  I guess techinically not stripes but close!

Cooking Theme #59

This is my boy Aidan making his own pizza.   Pepperoni!

Small Theme #272

Our little 9 week old Fiona in the clover!  She was having so much fun.  We really need to cut the grass, sometimes she has a tough time getting through it but isn’t she cute?  lol  You are all going to get so tired of puppy shots!  I just love this little girl so much it is hard not to share.  I played with the contrast some on the second shot to try some things out.  The last shot I had to use the unsharp mask on, she is so fast it is hard to catch her.  Fun to shoot though.
