Morning Routine Theme #182

Posted in Photography on July 30, 2011 by paintedmeadows

My morning routine lately is getting up around 4 am to take the puppy outside to pee.  This morning at 4:30 am there was the start of a beautiful sunrise.

Shades of Grey Theme #259

I took this picture on our back deck of Fiona enjoying the warm sun.  I then used Topaz Adjust and PSE9 to apply the Psychadelic filter with the color saturation all the way down to give it a pencil sketched look.  I love the way it turned out.  Our sweet little West Highland White Terrier will be 12 weeks old tomorrow!

The Letter M Theme #314

M is for Macho!  Look at my 2 boys!  Levi, my miniature stallion got home yesterday after his month long “date” and this is them showing off to each other.  I just loved how it showed off Barney’s neck.  Levi was really posing too but you can’t see it as much at this angle.  It only took a bit of posing and all was fine again.  The white tape between them is electric and they are both standing in alot of water from the pouring rain we had minutes before so that fence would really zap if it had touched them.  One last note, I don’t usually leave halters on but when I put Levi in there it was raining so hard that I just unclipped the lead and turned him loose.  The halter is now off.

Heavy Theme #142

My clydesdale X belgian draft horse, Barney.  He is about 2200lbs so I think that classes as heavy, especially since the rest of the horses around here are miniatures.  lol  He’s a big horse with a huge heart!!  In this photo I used PSE9 and yup, Topaz Adjust but this time I used the Venice Painting filter.  I liked the soft effect on my big softie!!

Letters in Architecture Theme #168

The letter X!  This is the train trestle that crosses the Peace River parallel to the blue bridge from yesterday.  I used PSE9 with the Topaz Adjust Psychadelic filter.

Curves Theme #66

Yet another angle of the Peace River bridge.  I love the curves of it and the color.  There are also curves in the light poles and curves in the road.  Covers the theme quite well I think.

Favourite Food Theme #101

OK.  First, I am behind a day so there will be 2 posts today.  Second, I don’t take good pictures of food and don’t really enjoy it but since there is a theme for your favourite food this is mine.  Bean Dip.  It is refried beans on the bottom, then quacamole, sourcream, salsa and topped with shredded cheese!  Yummy!!  Eat with tortillas and thoroughly enjoy!!

Primary Colors Theme #230

I took my kids to the park yesterday for a little break before more rain.  I loved the look of this slide with the wear and tear and also noticed the primary colors would fit the theme perfectly.  There is red on the swing set behind and also inside the slide where you climb up.  I used the Topaz Adjust filter in PSE9 and did the psychedelic filter on it.  It seemed to show the wear to it’s truest as I remember it.  Alot of kids have had fun on this slide.

Dark Theme #69

I love the way the dark stormy sky set off the yellow of the canola field across the road from our house.  I took this picture standing on my front veranda.  Right after I took it we got a real dandy thunderstorm.  I used the HDR-Sketch filter in the Topaz Adjust plug-in with my PSE9.  I really like the drama it emphasized and the painting feeling it gave it.

Fruit Theme #121

A wild strawberry, one of my most favourite fruit.  They grow all around our property in the grass and taste incredible!!
