This beautiful sunset was taken the night before last from my deck across my horse pasture. It looks so hot and maybe sort of muggy but it was only 4c out. I love the way it came out. Taken with my new Sony a580 with my 70-300 tamron telephoto lens.

What a lovely sunset. And it’s such a great shot – I love the composition with the silhouetted trees, and the colors are just breathtaking.

When I got my Sigma 70-300mm lens it came with a warning to never look through the viewfinder directly at the sun as it is like looking at the Sun through a magnifying glass – Never a good idea, I hope yours had the same warning. Great artistic result in any event.

Thank you all! I didn’t see that warning on my lens. I’ll have to look again. Can it damage your camera? I figured since there was a light cloud cover and it was low on the horizon that I would be OK. Also, I use the live view on my camera. Thanks for the info. I’ll look into it. Still, I am very happy with the picture.

Cold temperatures create gorgeous sunsets for some reason.

Lovely colours, and the framing is wonderful too. I agree, it does look sizzling hot 🙂
