One-Two-Three Theme #207

My daughter and I went looking for more crocuses today but after our frost last night most of them are done.  The good thing about the frost was that when the sun came out it left these beautiful dewdrops all over the fine fuzz of the stems.  They just sparkled.  I did get one crocus but I will share it another day.  And I didn’t fall down any hills today!!

Empty Theme #85

But not for long.  We had a hailstorm today and now it is snowing again but I loved how forlorn this little empty birdhouse looked in the hail.  The birds will be here soon though.

Reflect Theme #236

Reflection

This is a little pond not far from my house.  I stopped to take some pictures of the duck but he wasn’t co-operating so I took pictures of the whole scene instead.  I like the way it all reflected in the pond.

Renewal Theme #242

 

For me nothing says spring and renewal like a crocus.  Yesterday I took a drive to find some and found them in a very beautiful location overlooking the beautiful Peace River valley.  I also slid down the hill beside the crocuses and dislocated and sprained my pinkie breaking my fall and saving my camera.  But I got the shot!!  ;0)

Landscape Theme #164

This picture was taken not too far from my house.  It is the mighty Peace River with the sunseting.  I loved how the light was reflected on the water.  The river just recently broke and you can still see the ice clinging to the banks.  The picture is taken facing south with the sunset in the west.  I am really happy with how it came out!!

Tractor Theme #338

This is my husband Rob, feeding the misfits.  The herd consists of my 2000lb clydesdale/belgian draft horse Barney, my miniature pinto mare Rose Petal, our llama Kuzco, my daughter’s pinto miniature donkey Lily and my son’s miniature brown donkey Squishy.  Hence the misfits!  lol.  This was to be yesterday’s post but I didn’t have internet yet again.  (looking into a new provider).  I’ll do a second post for today right away while I still have the internet.

Family Theme #96

This is my beautiful/handsome family!!  My husband Rob, left for China today so I took a picture this morning of the kids getting their cuddles in!  He’ll be home in 2 weeks but it will feel like forever for all of us!

The Letter O Theme #316

This is an orchid that is in my bathroom.  I had some fun with my macro lens and then played a bit in Elements 9 but I can’t remember what I did.  lol.  I just love orchids, they are so beautiful!!

Sizzling Hot Theme #266

This beautiful sunset was taken the night before last from my deck across my horse pasture.  It looks so hot and maybe sort of muggy but it was only 4c out.  I love the way it came out.  Taken with my new Sony a580 with my 70-300 tamron telephoto lens.

Plants/Plant Theme #221

This is a plant in my living room and I shot it the day I got my camera.  The sun was coming through the window behind it and I love the effect from where I was sitting.  I bought the plant because it reminds me of Mexico and boy would I like to have gone there again this winter.  Can you say LOOOOONNNNGGG winter!  lol
